i saw the news last night. not surprised, knowing inbev was determined and had the $. but to see an american icon get bought by an overseas interest....well, i just think it's a shame.

Why is drinking Budweiser like making love in a canoe? Because it's f*cking close to water.

It will be interesting to see how this sale affects the stateside breweries (for me, more specifically the one in Williamsburg). I read they have no plans to shut down any of the 12 brew stations down, but AB has a long history with the Commonwealth of VA. They have been a significant investor in Virginia through employment and in the tourism industry (they own Busch Gardens and Water Country USA...two huge sources of tourism revenue for the state and for the county).

Hope things play out in favor for everyone involved.

isn't that what they all say? then once the sale is approved, they do whatever they want/need to do.

Not to mention 7 Eleven, Holiday Inn, Good Humor, and Firestone. And the Plaza Hotel, Flatiron and Chrysler buildings... the list is endless.

Support your local microbreweries! (hic)

That's 1. I doubt you will have more, but you certainly make the effort.
