Question

I'm fairly new to the game, so please don't hold it against me if this question has a simple explanation.

Today at Arlington, in the final race, the superfecta pool was 59k. The dollar super paid 200k+....how does this work?

Nobody had it for $1. . . 2 people hit it for ten-cents or something.

I don't see how that can be right. It can't pay more than was in the pool.

That's how it reads on the chart.....possible misprint?

No. . . what I said is right. . . this question comes up all the time.

There were two dimes on the winning combination, just like what Hockey said. The net pool after takeout was about 44k and each dime paid around 21,700.

I don't get it. Explain it to me. Why would it pay more for $.10? If there is only $59k in the pool, where is the other $150k coming from?

The tote has to show a $1 or a $2 payoff, thus the reason for it showing that much.

So technically, in the totes eyes, there was 590k in the Super pool

Yes, that makes sense. $21,700 is correct. $217,000 would be impossible.

And it wouldn't matter if there were a couple of $.10 tickets or a couple of $1 tickets, it would still pay the same.

Nobody got $200K - but they list super pay-outs for $1.

Each $.10 ticket was worth $20K or so (1/10 of the $200K $1 pay-out)

The bottom line is that both guys got $21,700. If these two guys played $1 tickets, they would have still gotten $21,700.

Alright, I got it now.

hockey2315 07-02-2008 06:51 PM

Personally I think they should list all pay-outs for the minimum . . . $.10 super, $1 tri, exacta, etc. . .

Be patient, soon when the dollar is at par with the

peso, you'll get your wish....

Laurel, try to overlook it. This should have been fixed when he was younger.
