Who needs TEXT?

NYRA just hit on an extremely INNOVATIVE format for their video feed: NO TEXT!!!

Think about it:

1) the horses come out for the post parade --- you don't need to waste effort reading their names and numbers

2) the race is being run --- no need to waste effort looking at the numbers/names of the runners OR the fractions

yeah

keep up the good work

oh, and

nice twist changing screens every so often --- keeps us on our toes --we wouldn't want to get too comfortable

How about their camera feeds?

Their video feed is the only one in the world in which I need binoculars at my desk to see the horses on my monitor.

Actually, I spoke to them about this. And, it seems, that one of their cameras DOES NOT have a zoom lens. They use this camera for the headons of the turf races (either inner or outer turf, I'm not certain).

I mean, what else is there to say?

Indian, that comment about the binoculars made me laugh out loud when i read it. Good visual someone sitting at there desk with binoculars. thanks for the laugh

its quite the minimalist display, uncluttered by such things as information.

People use binocs to watch the TV screens or monitors in the backyard at Saratoga.. Always makes me chuckle.

there's been a time or two i've used binoc's at the OTB to see the TV screens.

not having the best vision, and if the upfront seats are all taken, well it was the only alternative. i'm sure i drew some chuckles.

Perhaps you need a Spy Scope?
