This WAS an Interesting Race

1 Attachment(s)
KEE: 4/25/08 R 10

Chart is attached.

Per TRAKUS

the winner, Society's Chairman, ran LESS in terms of distance than all the other horses in the field; significantly less in some cases

Compromise ran 47' more
Senor Enrico +18
Glee Club +25
Hometown Boy +61
Safe Landing +54
Winner's Story +28
Rovic's Wealth +38
Glorious Cause +20
Pacific Gulf +55
Sultry Approval +70.

But it's not that simple:

1) SC, accelerated the last split and the last quarter (changing leads back lefty late to draw off from Compromise)

2) SC ran 2nd in a $150K stake at WO next out (beating French Beret);
appropriately, the winner in that race cut the corner on the turn, while SC went outside horses.

I'd rather take a horse like Monastic Springs. Granted, it's usually a bad idea to take maiden breakers first time vs. winners, but if he's really around 12-1 he's worth a play. Everyone knows he had a rough trip in his debut and he's bred to be a freak. . . The other Jayeff B/Goldberg horse earlier on the card also looks like a plays if he gets lost on the board.

I looked up the definition of 'perfect trip' yesterday and a link to that race was there.
