REAL HORSE meeting Good For Nothing Turf Sprinters

Seems as if quite a few here look down upon turf horses, and turf sprinters in particular. Tomorrow, a 'real horse', First Defence, gets to show some no good turf sprinters what racing is all about. No Commentators in here.

Hopefully this stays on the turf.

Let's whip on those NY breds.

2 horse race...
first defence does appear to be lone speed, and possibly the class

emirates to dubai is strong when right.

if there is any value, like 20 doller or more exacta, i might get off the pick 4 craze, and box that hard

He finally gets to do what his older doppleganger, Latent Heat, never got to do.

Unfortunately, Latent Heat seemed better bred for grass despite neither his sire or damsire ever setting foot on the stuff. Of course, having Toussaud as your second dam and Unbridled's Song as your sire, isn't slumming, either.

Starting threads about 6:5 shots now Fat Man?

Step it up, will ya.

First Defence = off the board in the Jaipur.

Pace is a definite problem, but I still think E To D takes it. If he gets him stuck, please throw eggs.

no chalk here

Fatboy likes First Defence about as much as he likes Ariel Smith entering the turn...

Pretty safe to say he is betting AGAINST.

'real horse'

Forecast seems benign did Belmont see significant rain last night that would be expected to take races off the turf today?

Happy Father's Day to those who have the blessing of children.

blackthroatedwind 06-15-2008 08:13 AM

We had some pretty substantial thunderstorms.

Races 5, 7 and 10 are off the turf.

Maybe he likes the color also?

hopefully Frankel doesn't scratch

blackthroatedwind 06-15-2008 09:05 AM

While it's always a shame when you lose turf races, we really needed the rain, and overall it's a good thing. Frankly, a day of rain Monday would do the turf course wonders.

perhaps, but I see enough question marks to go against for the win.

no pushover for first defence

the 9 has speed and coa
the 1 had speed and the inside
the 8 may the schwartz be with you!!

SOREHOOF 06-15-2008 09:55 AM

I think the 9 True To Tradition has a good shot. 1'st D has a dirt class edge, if that transfers to turf he'll be tough. Can't take the low odds though. I see him getting gobbled up in the stretch and hear the splashing of the bridge jumpers! I'll play a 4-9 exacta box. and a 4,9-1,3,5,6-4,9 tri.

Being one of those on here with a bug up your ass about turf/poly horses, it figures this is what you get out of this thread.

Would love to have seen English Colony in here.
