'02 Lakers - Kings

It was so obvious in '02 that the game was fixed. I completely believe this allegation.

King Glorious 06-11-2008 10:19 AM

Anyone that watched that game knew what was going on. As I said in the other thread, the Kings had been badly outshooting the Lakers from the line all series long and then, with the Lakers on the brink of elimation, all of a sudden they get a 40-25 free throw edge, including an amazing 27 attempts in the fourth quarter alone. In all of my years, I've never seen anything like this. Even the Laker beat writers were at a loss trying to explain what happened. I hope I never see anything like it again. But I don't believe that was the first time. Look at the 2000 West Finals against Portland. The first six games, the free throws were dead even. All of a sudden, the Lakers get a 37-16 edge in the final game. That Lakers won that King game by four and the Blazer game by five. Both were at home.

Ref. Tim Don.... wants a reduced sentence.
He has every reason to start making these
allegations against the NBA.

I saw and remember that Sacramento game well. I dont know
if I would call it a fix. I would call it one of the worst
officiated games I have ever seen.

Big problem with the NBA is the unfair treatment of
stars. The fouls that are, or are not called is really bad.
If Kobe was taking the 3 that Barry took, the foul would
have definitely been called in SA-Lakers series.
(not that it mattered cause
the Lakers were/are better than SA)

Also why in God's name does Stern let Joey Crawford
referee a Spurs game? The same guy who called two
T's on Tim Duncan for laughing on the bench and then
threatening to fight him...? The NBA fires and then reinstates Crawford,
and then one year later Crawfrd makes the no call in a playoff game involving the Spurs?
Stupidity to put Crawford to ref. that game. Crawford had
also had a rule arguement with Popovich in the NO series
and T'd up Pop. The rule is clear and Popovich was correct.

Apology comes later on both. But ADMITTED by the NBA

Donaghy picking that game between Sac v. Lakers seems way
too obvious. It was just very poorly called. Hell, I remembered it.

Stern should step down plain and simple. Never has a head of major sport done so much to unravel a nations confidence in fair play on the court year in and year out. He may not be a criminal according to the law but his actions and greed have left his sport a dismal crooked failure with no obvious reversal of fortune in sight.

If you think it was fixed FTFY!

I'm going with the Doc on this one..and Tide...I stick to the college sports mostly, but follow MLB pretty well! I've grown to
appreciate the NHL a little, at least they don't put up with slackers
ps...and all that crap about last years suspensions in the NBA playoff was bush league..and overkill by incompetency
