It seems there are more and more trainers winning at ungodly percentages and accomplishing amazing training feats. Which trainers deserve automatic consideration regardless of the runners form and PARTICULARLY when he/she takes over the training from a lower percentage winning trainer?

18 and 19 = not as much anymore, they have chilled out....

I don't want to insinuate anything but I suspect they all have good veterinarians. ;) I know Amoss was a vet assistant himself.

And what is it exactly that they are "best" at doing?

I agree Mullins is off the list... he lost his big $$ backer (Bone pulled all his horses from Mullins.... and that's what he won with)
