Beyer #

I had a first time starter Saturday in the 3rd at Calder named Picou. He ran second in a good effort. The 1 1/16 mile turf race went in 1:40.1 Anybody know how to get his Beyer#?

You can buy it on DRF for like $5 I think or you can get it if you subscribe to simulcast weekly. . . Someone here may be able to tell you without having to do all that, though. . .

Thank you.

No problem - good luck with Picou.

was he the one by with approval?

turf fan 05-25-2008 08:58 PM

Yes. He's by With Approval out of a Mr. Greely mare that earned over 100K.

I always play with approval horses first time on turf and I was rooting very hard at 17-1

turf fan 05-25-2008 09:29 PM

No play for me in NC. The trainer felt like he needed one. I would have been upset to blow the chance for a nice score at 17-1. Looks like 2-1 next out.

by the way my guess is his beyer is around a 70

turf fan 05-26-2008 08:13 AM

70 would be a decent first #. He ran an 89 BRIS #.
His older brother by Forest Wildcat won yesterday in an allowance at Philly paying $27. We sold this first foal from the mare now a 4yo that finally got to the grass.

If he got an 89 BRIS, he should get higher than a 70 Beyer. Just strictly based on working through my #'s, a 72 Beyer = 100 on my figures = 80 BRIS, so I'm guessing about an 83 Beyer.

Thanks.
I just typically know Beyer builds class into his numbers and seems to bias Calder a little low. Maidens often seem less than they should.

Nice call Philcski. Trainer just reported Picou ran an 82.
