1) How do we get Maroon lettering on this thread, when "Sea Green" is Arlington's color?

2) Much Obliged 2/1, unbelievable...I wonder how Emigh got this mount

3) Not beating Sporting Art and I think Mr. Mischief has a shot at hitting the board, and obviously both Block horses should run well

4) Dont know what to think about the Hashin, I do know that Fort Prado is a huge fan of the synethic, and Lovango being off for so long might need one, although when Douglas rides for Robertson, they are usually on go....

Yes, and shorts are ok at Arlington :)

Amazing Results looks awful good in there to me.

You put a lot of stock in Prado's lone Poly effort? I don't really know what to make of it, or what to expect.

I've decided to side with Lovango, and won't be too worried about the time off, since he ran well in the Awad here last year off a nearly identical six week layoff, and fired huge at Oaklawn off about a half year layoff earlier this year. He'll be ready to go.

It's going to be a pretty great day out there.

So long? Wasn't he running at Oaklawn this spring?
He has been good off a layoff in the past, and his one race over this course last summer was very impressive. He strikes me as the most likely winner.

April 10 was his last, a 3rd in the Count Fleet.

I don't know what the price will be, but seriously, the more I look at this race, the more I can't find a way he loses if he shows up.

I'm looking at boxing Steve's Double and Lovango

In the Classic I'll be looking at Sebastian County as the value

guilty, also. :o

Scav 05-22-2008 08:54 PM

I am changing my opinion on Lovango, he is the nuts here. You won't see 3/1 though, you want any value on him, you better play him on the end of a P3......

Yeah that's what I mean. Six weeks doesn't strike me as a big deal at all, especially considering he ran a big one earlier this year after a six MONTH layoff.

I think the way he loses is if Spotsgone is loose on the lead....which he very well might be. There isn't much speed in here at all and when he is unchallenged early (like in the Feb. stakes in Arkansas) he tends to run pretty big.

This looks like a chalky - Lovango/Spotsgone - exacta to me.

Look three back, he had some pace...Stonehouse runs one way, and he will keep Spotsgone honest. it is all Lovango and Fort Prado, with a press on Lovango

Just out of curiosity, what do you like about Steve's Double? I know he ran a big race in a G3 on the poly last fall, but it looks to me like that came in the middle of a string of good races he put together at the end of last year (the other two coming on dirt).
He hasn't looked close to that form in his starts this year on dirt, and I don't see why a switch to the tires is likely to flip his switch.

You are right that Stonehouse has only run one way this year, but I'm just not sure that he is actually fast enough to keep Spotsgone honest.
Lovango is my top pick, but I think I fear Spotsgone too much to play him as a single.
I don't give the rest much of a shot.

Scav 05-22-2008 09:45 PM

Just a note, I find it REAL interesting that there is no fly in jock for these three races. There isn't alot going on at Churchill, nor Belmont this weekend, yet there is 450k in purses on the line and an Albarado or Cornhelio doesn't show up for these three. I really think that this makes Douglas a lock for two of these races

Gangbuster's the value in the classic.

mnmark 05-22-2008 11:11 PM

Lovango was the best horse in the Count Fleet. He got a poor ride and was bottled up for much of the race He finshed full of run to win the gallop out . They have been pointing for this for this race. I think the outside post is perfect. 3-1 would be nice!

blackthroatedwind 05-22-2008 11:56 PM

I recommend watching replays for the members of the Arlington Classic field. There's a real doozy in there.

I know the price is going to be short and I was going to try to single him on a couple of pick-3s or in the pick-4, and try to catch a decent price in the other legs.

It will all be chalky, don't force it. There are only three horses that can win the 7th, and the 6th and 8th are pretty cut and dry. I might only be playing two tickets the whole day there now

6: 3
7: 3,5,8
8: 9

7: 3,5,8
8: 9
9: 8

Probably both of them for $100...If both Much Obliged and Lovango win, I have a 5k day, if one of them wins, I probably get 2500....
