Super Friday card at Pimlico. Looks like the local horsemen are supporting the big weekend well, with full fields in all of the MSW/allowance races.

Pimlico Special came up much better than I expected, even if they're really G2-G3 types, it's a full field and an excellent betting race.

Interesting that Chuck Lopez chose Gottcha Gold over Temporary Saint in the Pimlico Special. Actually, pretty amazing that he has options in a Grade one race.

Paul

He made the right choice, even if Gottcha Gold's ideal distance is shorter than a mile and 3/16ths.

If everyone but the deep closers scratch, the track is wet, nobody else gets out of the gate, etc.

He may have made the right choice. However, I doubt either will do much more this year but maybe Gotcha Gold will get loose in some stake at Monmouth.

Neither is really in the hunt Friday but I bet Temporary Saint beats Gotcha Gold.

I think one of the fillies in the Miss Preakness (Piesinoe?) just ran yesterday in the Railbird at Hollywood. I'd imagine she'd scratch.

Trivia:

Wandering Boy was actually the 4/5 favorite the last time this race was run.

The winner? INVASOR.

I got Gottcha Gold over Temporary Saint for another beer against ya. Action plays, even if they finish 2nd last and dead last.

we've gotten 2-3" of rain in the last 36hrs and they are calling for t-storms thurs and friday. i'll be shocked if the track is not wet.

D,

Read the other factors necessary for Wanderin Boy to run well. Obviously the track was wet at Churchill, and that wasn't enough. My point was that he basically needs a freaking meteor to hit the other horses to have a chance.

Does anybody say a way Hatta Fort loses in the Woodlawn?

I was asking myself the same thing. My only question is why they didn't go in the Crown Royal two weeks ago.. Still, he looks tons the best on paper.

Not like them to run back that quickly....though I'm not sure what an ungraded $75K stake does for him. To me, they are underrating him, especially against our turf horses. He's AOK.

Of course, his defeat last time cost me a small fortune.
