Road Trip

Where would you all go if you had about 2/3 weeks from the end of June to go to racetracks you've never been to before?

Of these.
Moutaineer
Penn National
Presque Isle
Thistledown
River Downs
Colonial Downs
Indiana Downs
Canterbury
Prairie Meadows
Arapahoe
Horsemans Park
Fairmount
Louisiana Downs
Evangeline
Ruidoso
Lone Star
Fort Erie

Do the Canterbury - Prairie Meadows jaunt. They are about 4 hours apart. I cap the CBY card pretty heavily, have been for years as it was my home track for a long time. www.valentoraces.com

Myself, I would probably do EVD.

closest combination is probably PI, PN, Mountaineer, River and Colonial. IF you do Colonial start or end there with the Colonial Cup or the Va. Derby.

Lone Star is a great weekend trip.

Penn National... it's close to Hershey Park too!
Fort Erie & Presque Isle are close to each other also...will be making a trip to Erie PA before Saratoga.

If you can get to start at F.Erie(Buffalo) it is less than 90 minutes south to Presque Isle. From there Thistle is less than 90 minutes west. From thistle its probably another 90 minutes south to Mountaneer.

Fort Erie---Never been
Presque Isle----New and descent racing with slot casino
Thistle downs----mediocre facility not great racing
Mountaineer --------track is a craphole but new Casino Hotel(slots and table games) is very nice. However there is nothing else at all to do in the area.

If you had a Designated Driver you could so Thistle and the Mount in the same day.

Hope this helps if you decide to come to this area

May want to look at it by which tracks won't be around for too much longer. Colonial may close. Thistledown is in trouble. And I'm sure there may be others.
