Country Star

Anyone like this horse next week? Whats the story on this cinnamon girl?

Shes run 4 times. All either on the junk or the turf. Her last race was awful. Couldnt have been the surface, she won impressively there in the fall. COuld it have been a bad training job getting her fit enough to run in a very tough spot?

How do you think she will handle the dirt and the 100K plus fans on Oaks Day?

Is she the right play at 5/1?

Bad training job

I wouldn't think so

depends on what proud spell and eight belles do, my third choice is BSharpsonata.

she's on my very short list for Friday.

I didn't expect her to win at Keenland, coming off the layoff since the Hollywood Starlet in January. I'm still looking to use her next Friday, but I would hope to get a better price than 5-1. A lot depends on where Eight Belles and Proud Spell end up. Glad Bejarano is back aboard, too.

Well that effort (or lack of one) will sure likely bolster the price. And quite frankly I doubt very much that either filly runs in the Derby so look for Proud Spell and Eight Belles to be the only 2 horses under 4/1. Country Star could go off as high as 8/1 off that utter mess of a race.

Highly overrated, and her trainer knows that.

I wouldn't play her at 15/1.

Proud Spell is a borderline single at this point if the field ends up the way it looks like it will. Golden Doc A could be interesting at a little bit of a price but I'm not sure the added distance will suit her. . . I wouldn't want ANY part of Country Star on dirt after that last one. . .
