Arlington introduces cashless wagering

http://www.arlingtonpark.com/news/ar...echnology-here

I like this idea, at least they continue to improve the equipment and technology.

other changes to the wagering menu include:

rolling doubles for the whole card.

superfecta carryover. (how can it carryover with dime supers?)

High 5 (coming later in the meet.)

Pick 6 going to $1 minimum.

Looks like some good changes. Is the dime super available on all races where a super is available? It not, then I agree...how can a super carry.

Will there be a pin code to bet?. If not and you lose your card after a big hit or deposit people are going to be angry!

Bigsmc 04-22-2008 06:48 PM

I likeee the $1 Pick 6...

miraja2 04-22-2008 06:50 PM

A few more reasons why I can't wait for ten days from now to get here.

Not so sure about the rolling DD's, that is going to smoke the P3 pools pretty bad I bet. High 5 is the next big thing so whatever, and the P6 going to $1 is comical, NO ONE plays the p6 at arlington. even me, I played it ONCE last year when there was 300k in the pot already, I was there with Haber, we got smoked in like the 3rd leg by some 2nd time starter that was long as hell but should have included.

I don't know how I feel about cashless wagering, I like having tickets in my hand so I can either feel the sense of satisfaction or the sense of being an idiot. don't get that from ticketless wagering.

I am willing to bet that this won't go over well with all the yups and milfs that show up, they like tickets also so they can show everyone they had $5 to win on the 7/5

You might get 2 dogs for that, but if you want one of them new fangled margaritas from their new outdoor machine, I think it's $8.50.

Seriously though, everything looks great..Turf course looks about 8 inches deep already

Oaklawnfan 04-22-2008 10:06 PM

Got to make it up for a weekend this season. I love downtown, the ease of the burbs and my wife has a keen interest in the lasagna at Geno's East. Maybe we could parlay the trip when the Cards are in town to play the Cubbies?

They had a SERIOUS hotdog there, a legitmate footlog on a toasted bun that was damn good, only had it once last year, if I recall, the only place that had it was that first food stop on the grandstand side.....

They had something similar years ago at The Mudbug on Weed Street. You put money into an account there and you bet on a hand held betting machine. The big problem is you couldnt cancel wagers if you made a mistake. Can be dangerous if you aren't careful.

Not at all. There are plenty of those in California. How many carryovers over $100k did Arlington have last year with their $2 minimum? Not many. Hollywood has them twice a week at a minimum.

The $1 play may entice me to play once in a while if I like the card. My next P6 play at Arlington will be my first P6 play at Arlington, there just isn't enough in their pool to get excited over. With the $1 play, I will be more tempted to take a shot.
