She's All Eltish?! ugh there goes my Oaks horse. . .

The Indomitable DrugS 04-22-2008 01:57 PM

Yeah, but the field doesn't look like much.

Compared to what though Doug? Aren't 12 mediocrities better 5 or 6...

pweizer 04-22-2008 02:03 PM

Of course, since no one can bet these races unless on-track it takes much of the fun out of it.

Can't wait to wager on the card

I would like to see She's All Eltish in the Oaks too but I think they have been saying for weeks that it was unlikely.

Nothing cheap about the Calder Derby field. A G3 winner, Two G3 placed runners. 3-4 other small stakes winners. The Live Oak looks interesting from the outside. Hickey's horse is also interesting. It's a very good betting race of good quality.

GPK 04-22-2008 03:50 PM

amazing to me, that Lezcano on has 1 mount in those 4 races.

I see two rides for Centeno. Same as Jeff Sanchez who should be getting two mounts a month vs two in the stakes set.

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

That's just about the worst field of stakes races I've seen. Most of those horses couldn't win an overnight handicap on the turf at BEL (and that's being generous), let alone a Graded Stake.

Let's review:

there are a TON of good turf horses out there

GP chose not to card more than a handful of competitive races for them this winter (in fact, there have probably been more quality turf races at KEE than the entire meet at GP)

guess we just have to wait for BEL and SAR for some quality turf racing.

Yamil Rosario should ensure you a nice price.

fat man,
What exactly is bad about these races? Full fields. Decent horses. Aside from the one race, they're listed stakes with big fields and big purses. What is wrong with that?

Danzig 04-22-2008 07:05 PM

have seen far worse than these.
