Whos faster?

War Pass or Big Brown?

war pass, big brown will have to do so much to ever accomplish what war pass already has.

Pretty sure the poster means in terms of early speed. In that case, I say War Pass.. The better horse? I think Big Brown.

Imo the diferance is BB uses his speed to get position and stay out of trouble. WP goes fast for as long as he can and dosent show the ability to relax and then turn it on. BB looks to have the "push button speed" the abi;ity to turn it on and off to get position and to avoid trouble. Relaxing during the race looks to be the big differance,

If Big Brown is better but War Pass is faster, where on the track does Big Brown pass War Pass in the Derby? Does he run on the lead with him, neck and neck and pull away once they round the last turn or does Big Brown pull away well before then?

Oh wait :o this assumes that War Pass doesn't get bumped out of the gate, look at the backside of another horse, eat dirt and quit like a big baby who's going to run home crying to his mama

can anyone tell I don't like War Pass

But I don't like Big Brown (and the odds that you'll get on him on May 3rd) either ;)

Unless War Pass goes sub-:46, I see Big Brown sitting a length or two off of him and inching past him in midstretch. Whether there'll be someone else to come get BB, I'm not sure yet.

BB along with 18 other horses pass him at about the mile mark when War Pass gets sucked up through the back of the pack because he just went 23/46/109. Based on the last two races, I can't see even sending War Pass to the gate. He had no legs coming home in the Wood, what is going to change in the next 3 1/2 weeks?

An old saying goes that the fittest horse wins the Derby, the fastest horse wins the Preakness and the best horse wins the Belmont.

It'd be interesting -- don't expect this to happen -- but it'd be interesting if War Pass skipped the Derby to stage a good run in the shorter Preakness.
