Anyone following American Idol?
 

Down to top 12 and frankly...I think they are all excellent! Women don't hold advantage over guys this year...really hard to sort out at this point...Brian, you watching?

My daughter likes the Australian guy and the young guy (16 year old?). I've heard some of them but can't put a face or name to them. There was a girl who sounded like Tina Turner last week that I thought was good.

David Archuleta (sp?)...he's 17 but looks about 14...fantastic voice, he's the clear favorite so far but long way to go! His version of John Lenon's Imagine brought tears to Paula's eyes...one of the best performances in the history of Idol but he seems to be playing it a bit safe. Women...really they are all good, hard to pick one.

Paula seems to be "rambling" alot more this year.

And Simon's even harsher than usual...but I almost always agree with him!

There was a guy I saw a couple of weeks ago (from Texas, had dreadlocks). He played guitar when he sang. I thought he was pretty good. Is he still on (if you know which one I mean)?

Jason Castro...yeah he's one of the 12...rough week but then he rebounded nicely last week without the guitar!

I'll take kristy lee cook. Have to love the cute blonde who trains horses :)

Brooke White is my favourite.

Archuleta will win. It's tempting to take Brooke White at those odds but common sense tells me that the teen girls will vote like crazy for the aww shucks kid.

Smithson has a lot of talent, unclear how the news of her previous recording contract will effect the voting, Hernandez gets better every week but his past (male stripper) may hurt him as well. It appears to be Archuleta's to lose but then again, last year at this stage...the winner was ranked third among the women!

I actually really like Brooke. Top three women are: Brooke; Carly; and Christy. IMO.
Top three men: Michael; David A; and David Cook. Cook is probably my fave male singer in the competition. Although I do believe Micheal is the hottest. :eek:

So far my vote for the final two: Cook and Brooke. Two totally different singing styles.

Brooke is probably my fave so far though. I loved her redention of "You're so Vain", but I REALLY liked her "Love is a Battlefield" from last week.

And before it all started I thought Carly was going to be my fave through the competition.

The chick with the tatoos is going to win if the little boy doesn't.

I'm watching this year, but without any of the same zeal as last year.

Major observations:

1. David Archuleta is obviously the most talented singer. His creepy mouth-breathing before and after every performance is slightly less awesome. As it how often he licks his lips while he performs.

2. Carly Smithson is a stooge. I'm already biased against her because I don't feel like American Idol is supposed to be for people who had record deals, had millions of dollars spent on them, and then sold 300 copies of a record the first week out. Hell, I could sell 300 records the first week I put one out with just a little bit of extra effort and outreach. To add insult to injury, she's probably the most overrated performer on there. She's inconsistent and frankly, listening to her sing ruins my night. I will be mortified if she wins.

3. Jason Castro is okay, he's the most interesting of the bunch to me because he doesn't fit, but I like him.

4. Sadly, we didn't start talking about this before Danny Noriega was voted off. I hate him. I hate the way he sings. I hate how flamboyant he is. I hate that he's obnoxious. The only thing I do not hate about him is that fact that he is no longer on the show.

5. Amanda Overmeyer is also a total ****wad waste of space.

Those are about the only thoughts I have on it.

I Think That Most Of Them Look Old To Me. They Claim 20,s And 30,s? They All Look Like They Are 40 Something, Except The Kid. Most Hated Ones Are David Lap Dancer Hernandez, The Goofy Comb Over Hair Guy From Missouri, The Dread Travolta Look A Like, And The Aussie Who Doesnt Look A Day Over 50.
