how does a horse "break down" --which I assume the chart caller got wrong, but still obviously something happened to him-- and is then allowed to enter (for 3x the claim price no less)? Shouldn't someone (I realize there is no time, money, staff, etc) certify this horse's fitness/soundness before he is even entered, let alone run....

Duct tape. Fixes everything. I love the inner.

this made me laugh----one of my horses colicked over the weekend and had to have a catheter sewn in for fluids....but the vet still wanted him to get some turn out....how to keep the catheter clean? vet wrap and duct tape:D

Sorry to hear about your horse... ok now? colic sucks.

paisjpq 02-27-2008 06:01 PM

he's OK now...I wouldn't have mentioned it if he wasn't. Made for fun weekend though

Cajungator26 02-27-2008 06:02 PM

Colic stinks...

Glad he's better, Pais.

paisjpq 02-27-2008 06:14 PM

thanx...my animals know better than to die and stick me with a huge vet bill.

He has two workouts in the interim. Not sure the rules in NY, but I assume he was on the vet's list and one of those workouts was witnessed by the state vet.

Maybe its some sort of scam involving the chartcaller.

Enough for me. At 30-1, I'm loading up.

maybe an overzealous chart writer? maybe he was vanned off, or had some other difficulty.
i remember laffits last ride, when that horse did a flip--he got up, shook like a wet dog, and walked off the track.

maybe he was just cross-firing

2 Aluminum Pads ON...

How scary is this horse?

12/27 eased after being only 30 lengths off of a 23 and 4 quarter mile in the mud. So he sauntered through his opening quarter in just under 30 seconds.
1/19 "broke down" after he flew through an opening quarter of 26 and 3, which obviously was too much for this 9YO to endure.
Now after a 47 and 4 half mile drill and a BULLET (fastest of 32) 3f blow out in 36 flat he comes back for the trainer who sent him out to a very narrow loss to Lethimthinkhesboss, one of the top choices in today's race.

This in no way is an endorsement for him as a win candidate, but stranger things have happened.

what is even more amazing is that after opening up at 15-1, he dropped to 11-1 and hung around 11, 12, 13-1 up until the last few flashes...

Holland Hacker 02-29-2008 04:35 PM

He's entered right back for Sunday at the Big A. What a recovery.
