Wrigleyville in flames

http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3266721

If they change the name of Wrigley Field to something like "Wrigley Field at Chase" or something wild like that.

This Zell guy is going to go down in Cubs history as a complete jerkoff. He is going to sell the team and field separetely. This is the one time that I hope the state of Illinois or city of Chicago get a hold of this because even them wouldn't screw it up as much as a corporation would. What is nice about it is that no changes can be made to it unless it goes infront of some sort of historian review or something because it is preserved. But those people can probably be greased.....

Seriously Scavs..if the Tribune hadn't sold it, do you really think this wasn't next on their agenda too? Remember..first there were outfield signs, then ownership of the rooftops, then billboard behind home plate, then their own ticket brokerage company..it was just a matter of time

And the irony here is...

It ALREADY is named after a corporate sponser!

Well if they sell the rights:

It is sickening....and you are right Bob, it is already named off of the Wrigley's, even though back then things were alot different then now.

I guess history is just that now, nothing is perserved for future generations.

As I said on the BC thread, people always take good things and try to make them better, when they should be taking the bad things and trying to make it better, like the one year wonder White Sox :)
