What Will Be Obvious After Tonite

Latinos are not supporting OBAMA very much...

"OBAMA is winning big in L.A. County isn't he?"-Larry King

"Uh no Larry, actually it's Hillary that is doing well in L.A. County"-Anchor

Obama's STRONG SPOT WILL BE THE TREEHUGGER FRISCO BAY AREA(NOT L.A. COUNTY.)

I can't remember the %,but Hillary got a huge % of the New York Latino vote....You can have your own opinion why this is,but it's a fact that OBAMA is not winning the Latino vote...........OBAMA took 71% of St. Louis' votes(a different type of minority area.)

SniperSB23 02-06-2008 12:32 AM

I'm watching MSNBC for what it is worth. They seem to be pretty fair so far although maybe slightly in the favor of Hillary.

Hillary is winning with old hispanics. An interesting combination of demographics to go after but it has at least got her almost half the delegates tonight. Maybe she'll cry again in the next week or two to assure herself of the sympathetic white women vote.

SCUDSBROTHER 02-06-2008 12:51 AM

Here is the way it's breaking down:

(overall)

Blacks,Young people,upper income types,tree-hugger/computer chip types=OBAMA

old people,Latinos,white women,and to some extent blue collar/union workers=Clinton

White Men (if aren't in the above groups) seem to be breaking up somewhat equally. To some extent the poor(other than the Black poor) seem to favor Hillary somewhat. This is an incredible race. The raw vote was only 100k in favor of Hillary today(11 mil DEMS VOTED.)

that response is one i've seen ever since clinton. i can't remember if anyone said that before bill got office--anyone remember it before then?
i know some hollywood yahoos said they would leave if bush won (a reason to vote for george?!) but they're still here.

thankfully one person can't single-handedly ruin the country. i wouldn't pack my bags regardless of who won.

While I don't really understand this sentiment, you don't need to worry. She can't win a general election in this country, in part because a lot of people feel like you do. Hillary is the one person who can unify the Republican Party....against her.
I'm a Democrat and a big Obama supporter. In part this is because I think he would be a far better president, but also because he at least has a chance of winning in November. She - on the other hand - would have no chance.

i've seen where obama has been steadily gaining on hilary nationally in the polls...i really think that's true as well, that he could win, and she could not.

Danzig 02-06-2008 06:53 AM

i found this:

As a result, Todd said, Clinton could end up with the most votes at the end of the evening, but the delegate count could be nearly even, with Obama winning 841 to Clinton’s 837.
“We have a split decision tonight,” Todd said.

---------------------------------------

and this:

In the Democratic races, Barack Obama led with eight in 10 black voters and Hillary Rodham Clinton led with just over half of whites. Obama’s support among four in 10 whites across 16 states was more than he had captured in earlier primary states. Clinton won six in 10 Hispanic voters. Obama led among white men, while Clinton led among white women.
Obama won in Alabama, Delaware, Georgia, and his home state of Illinois, all states where more than one-fifth of the voters were black. Clinton won in Arkansas, Massachusetts, Missouri, New York, and Oklahoma, states with fewer black voters, but she also won in Tennessee and New Jersey, both states where one-fourth of the voters were black.

Overall, Obama led among men and Clinton led among women, although her advantage among women appeared smaller than was seen in early primary states. An exception was New York, which Clinton represents in the Senate. There, Clinton was competitive among men and gained the support of four in 10 blacks. In Arizona, Obama was more competitive among Hispanics than he was nationally.

In the Republican races, John McCain led among men. He was tied with Mitt Romney among women.

Disagree completely. Whoever wins the Dem nom will have unified Democratic support, including the former Obama supporters. But, most importantly, Hillary can get votes from a bloc that Obama likely wouldn't -- namely, Republican women.

But Hilary so disgusts true Repubs who aren't real excited about McCain that they would be motivated to turn out in larger numbers than they might if it was Barack. The answer to who wins the general election may not be who votes, but who doesn't.

True Republicans always turn out in large numbers. The biggest changes occur when those who normally feel themselves disenfranchised think they have shot at effectuating their views. Even if the hard-core Republican Clinton haters turn out in mass droves, the amount of interest in the Democratic race this year will ensure a large Democratic turn out. And there's less haves than have-nots. Plus, Hillary will still pick up many moderate Republican women.

I am curious as to what she will do that will be so bad that we'll be finished as a nation. I'm awaiting laugh number two...
