Friday 1/11: GP R9

This came up a very nice race. . .

Einstein should be the favorite but this looks like a prep for longer races. His race on 1/7/07 looks VERY similar to this. . . Coming off a lay-off since the previous May, an ALW at a mile, etc... He finished fourth in that race and my guess would be that this is a higher quality field. He looks like a total play against in here.

The horse I'm particularly interested in is #9 Elusive Fort. He was a multiple G1 winner in South Africa including a G1 win at a mile and is running for Marty Wolfson for the first time. Wolfson has limited stats with first time NAs but he's got very impressive "1stw/trn" and lay-off stats (28 .43 $4.17 and 9 .56 $4.11 respectively). Does anyone know how a G1 in SAF stacks up to races here class wise?

#10 Palace Episode also looks good. He finished 3rd behind Trippi's Storm and After Market in his last race at a mile - the G2 Kelso.

The 4 could also win at a price and the 5 and 11 must be respected. . . I'm not really that crazy about the the Pletcher horse

You're right, it looks better than some graded stakes, but I think it's race 8 and not race 9. A chalky play, but I think I'll take the 2(Einstein) and the 4(Hot Stuff) in both win and place position over the 5 (Minister's Joy), , the 6 (Touched by Madness), the perennial choker, the 9 (Elusive Fort) and the 10 (Palace Episode) in an exacta for a buck which should come to $10. Then I'll take Hot Stuff over Einstein, Touched by Madness and Palace Episode in an exacta for 2 bucks which should come to $6 and in my final act (today) of total irrationality, I'm gonna take Touched by Madness (seems appropriate)
over Minister's Joy and Palace Episode in a $1 exacta box.

2,11/2,5,6,9,10,11 ($1)= $10
11/2,6,10 ($2)= $ 6
6/5,10 & 5,10/6 ($1)= $ 4
total $20

You're welcome. Would hate to see anybody lose their money betting on the wrong race. Have done that a few times myself.
