Monterry Jazz scratching from the 'Nando...

King Glorious 01-11-2008 12:46 PM

Don't care who wins as long as it's not Ravel, Tiago or Great Hunter.

alysheba4 01-11-2008 03:46 PM

why? looking for a good price.....

my miss storm cat 01-11-2008 03:58 PM

Would love to see Thousand Words do well but that's not gonna happen here.

Maybe someday.

Well Armed and Hurry Up Austin. :)

(Oh he can too get a win. No, really). :D

Big Bad Leroybrown - Hurry Up Austin

How's the S.A. polytrack playing? Still heavily speed biased or is it all a mystery now after the rains?

I'm going with a gut play in Air Commander in the San Fernando.
Indian Sun in the Rafael

Is it just me or does Well Armed look like the only horse in the San Pasqual who wants to run on the lead? If he gets to amble along up front early, he could leave them flat-footed late.

Of the 3yos that ran in SoCal last winter, Tiago seems to be the only genuine stakes horse. Look at Law Breaker, who was second in the 7f San Vicente S by a neck and beat Level Red in his n1x: last out he won at 2 turns for $50K and was stuffed at 6.5f in the second today, for the same price and as the favorite.

Air Commander's best showing was a second to that world-beater Cobalt Blue, where he finished about as far in front of Level Red as Law Maker did. Somebody had to win those graded races (of which there are far too many for the way trainers have campaigned horses lately), but all that connected form is quite moderate.

Indian Sun could only manage 2nd in the Rafael

What got me down today, until Air Commander won, was I mistakenly bet Prom Shoes in Fairgrounds 6th stakes race, meaning to bet Silver Lord, who won paying $30. I saw the 8-1 ml odds on Silver Lord and bet the #8

Baffert gets ignored?

YES!!! *high fives*

this stuck in my head
Thank You KG as this was my exacta strategy. Especially after Monteray Jazz scratched I decided to take a try at it for the $56. After seing the 9th race(phony speed race where no one closed, and hardly anyone passed a horse claimers i think in like 107) i played it two times more.

Tiago or Ravel may well be the best horse but thats not what matters on that surface. I am happy after the malibu and now this, still wish they would get that surface at least halfway respectable for the sport. I was like 2 split personalities - a gambler cheering like mad and a sportsman disgusted by the gimmicky track.

letswastemoney 01-12-2008 10:07 PM

Tiago probably needs 9 furlongs or more

Nice Pick in the San Fernando. Tell me you AT LEAST had 20 to win on him

Easier competition would be nice too. Horse is a dog.
