A-Coupled: Cool Coal Man and Coal Play

It's Gulfstream boss, not Calder.... hopefully my car still knows the way.

First post temperature O/U is 56 degrees. 42 right now.

Both of these races are pretty nice. Been waiting for this meet since Churchill ended. Both races also offer their twists, with Keyed Entry back for Pletcher in the Mr. P , and with some of the young 3yo who may benefit from the cutback to 7 furlongs in the Hutcheson. Haven't taken a long look yet, but it is pretty wild to see Grand Champion dropping 15 lbs of weight off his fall highweight.

I should be there on Saturday. They both look like nice races, I hope I can find some winners.

Halo Najib seems the logical choice. I wasn't crazy about the way he looked in the lane last time. Still has the talent and the distance is right if he holds together.

Someone like Coal Play or Big Truck could also find the distance to their liking.
The Florida horse Smooth Air impressed me, although he should be a little out classed here.

Was hoping to see Grand Minstrel run.

I understand that Coal Play has been scratched but what I noticed was that he and Cool Coal Man were both entered in the Hutcheson but were not coupled, despite both having the same owner and trainer. I think that's horrible.

Cool Coal Man scracthed not Coal Play.

I know ROI MAUDIT is facing a different set of animals today, but I like him to sit just off of the first flight and pounce turning for home. With Mach Ride in here(will be heavy favorite, deservingly so), and Keyed Entry probably taking a boatload of dead money IMO, RM seems to be a nice value play.

Sloppy track today. Who are the mud-loving speedsters?
