NY: Bruno backs off; Hayward ambivilant
Joe Bruno backs off the simo negotiating rights (etc.) demand as well as that top NYRA management leave.. Sticks to guns on <30 year term... >20 appears reasonible to him.. Thinks deal can wrap before Tuesday.
Meanwhile though, Charlie Hayward is far less enthusiastic saying substancial issues remain. The NYSRWB choses to yield situation to Oversight Committee for post Jan. 1 deadline activities... Tom Precious' B-H piece: http://news.bloodhorse.com/viewstory.asp?id=42914 |
Being that the length was the only thing that seemed negotiable I'm hardly surprised. Though, I'm sure Joe could have worked out a much better deal on the simulcast rights than NYRA did. Exclusive for Magna, I assume, at 1% net on handle?
