P. Val Suspended

Stewards already on his case, this time for reckless riding. I don't think they are going to cut him one bit of slack on anything for quite awhile...

"Jockey Patrick Valenzuela has been suspended for three days by the Hollywood Park stewards, who cited him for careless riding aboard Fast Parade (Delineator) in Saturday's Hollywood Turf Express H. (G3). The stewards ruled that Valenzuela failed to make a proper effort to maintain a straight course in the stretch, causing interference and resulting in the disqualification of his mount from sixth to last in the nine-horse field. Valenzuela is scheduled to serve his suspension December 2, 5 and 6."

This did'nt take long... Atta boy Patrick:p

was it really the jock's fault? The horse was tiring at the time. I would doubt he did it intentionally to save a position.

Valenzuela's adventure wouuld likely not have been an issue had it not created the chain reaction it did. Looked to me that it was just a case of dominos the way the group outside him were lines up off the turn. Rough or careless riding isn't the pervading career issue with PVal.
