Blackberry Road??anyone else like him...

I know its a total sucker bet but i just got off the phone with my uncle who is out in Vegas and he got 150-1 on Blackberry in the KD future bet. For some odd reason i like this horse and i know that he has NO early speed but he seemed to be moving pretty good yesterday i know it was on the rail and the race was pretty quick for the opening half but not blazing. I dont know i just guess i want some of you smart guys/gals to tell me this wasnt a total idiot bet :). I am worried a little about the breeding as i know Mr. P got Fu peg but anything else close??? Also the trainer is not a well known but then again that seems to be the MO for KD trainers lately last year not withstanding. I really think if things progress this is Borel's mount for KD 134. Thoughts and dont get ugly im pretty new to horse racing. Thanks.

150-1 seems like a fair price if you want to throw a few bucks on him for fun. . . I would never bet a huge amount of money on a future this far in advance, however. . . He's got a pretty decent pedigree for the Derby and I don't think 10F will be a huge problem. . . His dosage index is 3.0 (if you believe in dosage) and Gone West has thrown classic distance horses before so at 150-1 taking a gamble that BBR can get the distance doesn't seem too bad. . . I didn't realize he was a half to Vindication until I just looked up his pedigree but it's a good thing I didn't or I probably would've lost a lot of money on him by now. . . Good luck if you play the future. . .

I've been keeping an eye on him ever since I saw him at Arlington Park for the Arlington-Washington Futurity over Labor Day weekend. There was a lot of buzz about him even though he raced up front early and flat ran out of gas at the 1/2 mi pole, finishing 7th.
Came back over the synthetic in the Kentucky Cup Juv at Turfway going 1 1/16th..Much more reasonalbe fractions, but a questionable (at best) ride by Borel, he was relegated to third - with a clean trip I believe it was his to win.
His last was a place effort at CD in the Kentucky Jockey Club which was clearly his best effort to date, and had Borel started him a little earlier, again I believe he was the horse to beat. He's a dead closer and that isn't my favorite type of running style for the Derby; but a classy horse that, with the right jock, looks to be able to get it done over both surfaces. Who knows? I'd certainly throw 10 bucks on a future bet @ 150-1

I have lost money on him in his last 3 races so I am very biased. If he would have got there yesterday it would have been my biggest score of the year by far. I think that he is a 2 year old that developed very early and have my doubts to how much more he will progress. At 150-1 though, I would lose a few more bucks on him one more time.

He's definitely raced more times already than I usually like to see in a Derby horse without much progression. . .
