Congrats to the "old man"!:)

Congrats to McDynamo-a real legend though perhaps not the all-round champion that Flatterer and Lonesome Glory were.

McDynamo's 6 wins in a row at Far Hills (won the G1 novice as well) and 3 Colonial Cup wins make him a phenom but he doesn't have the CV of horses who won Grade 1s on Hunt Courses, at summer Grade 1s like Saratoga and most importantly took their A-Games to Britain.

I suppose at this game, youve got to go to Britain to show how good you are. Congrats to the connections though for having such a wonderful champion...

Hope it was a good day Jeremy..

I read somewhere that Your A Gassman was meant to run in this. Did he? is so, how did he do?

Brock, you remember this guy, don't you?

brockguy 10-21-2007 05:21 PM

he didnt run in the Grand National. I sort of remember him. i remember Ansar tried it a few years back and found McDynamo (and a few others!) too good. Party Airs who was with Weld over here and won a G2 juvenile hurdle a few years back won a G3 hurdle on Saturday..

Maybe he was scratched. I read on another forum that he was in the entries for the race.

Do you know if he is trained over there now?

As a novice chaser he looked a real nice horse. He should have won the Feltham at Kempton as a novice but he was caught out by a horse who fell in front of him and unseated Brian Harding. He never really found much form after then for one reason or another, but he was only just short of top class as a novice chaser for Ferdy Murphy.

there was a horse Chivite who raced in Britain that was in the race.. Rated about 130 over hurdles.. couldnt tell you much on Gassman..

McDynamo is a phenomenal story. I'd put him up against Hirapour, Sur la Tete, even Lonesome Glory among American steeplechasers of recent years.

Great story and what a great day in Far Hills. I don't recall a better day in 20+ years that I've been going.
