Opinions

Clarence Scharbaure from Midland and owner of Valor farms appears to be trying for the TC again. He attended the Keenland Sale for the first time in about 10 years when he purchased Majic Cat and a couple of years earlier Alasheba. He purchased 3 yearlings, an Qwsome Again filly for 1.4m,aN Unbridled Song colt and An AP Indy colt for about 500k each. He was also the underbidder 3.7 Unbriddled Song colt. I was just wondering if any that attended have an opinion on his purchases. Nice to see an 85 year old get his battery charged and jump back in the game.

That $3.7 million dollar Unbridled's Song is out of a mare from the immediate family of Yankee Gentleman, Half Ours, Key Deputy, Key Phrase, etc. None of those made more than 10 starts lifetime.

Of course, its owned by Coolmore now, so less than 10 starts was a given anyways.

I mixed up yearlings. The one I meant was sold for $2.6 million. He's also related to Tribal Rule, who raced til 4 years of age yet made only 4 career starts.

The $3.7 million one is out of Kentucky Oaks winner Secret Status.
