Gameday at Alabama

for those of you making your football picks, Bama is 0-4 when Gameday comes to Tuscaloosa.
i still don't know what to make of the 2007 Bama team. one thing i know for sure, Nick Saban has made a WORLD of difference in this team.

last year they would have lost that game, maybe the mondset of having Saban is all the difference in the close games - we shall see this week , no reason not to beat this UGA team they lookedterrible against USC

i think they can handle georgia.

and go whoever is playing arkansas!!--that would be kentucky, just remembered, and of course they knocked off the ranked louisville cardinals. i think they can handle the one-two combo of nutt and dick.

Cajungator26 09-20-2007 05:56 PM

I think Georgia wins.

Kentucky is tough. I think 'Bama wins and the Wildcats win.

Big emotional win against there biggest rival. It will be tough for Kentucky to duplicate that effort, even though they are a much improved team.

no question saban and major applewhite made the difference last week. shula would have NEVER won that game. that was Bama first 4th qter comeback since 2001.
Bama's thin on the D-line and at LB, the queations is how bad did the hogs beat that crew up?

i like the cats, they've come along way but after last week i don't think they'll be ready for the physical beating the hogs can shell out.

What I like about the Arkansas game is that the tide played with urgency AND composure during crunch time.

Plus Georgia looked like a bunch of zombies at home against an overrated SC.

Gotta like our chances Saturday night.

Is Major Applewhite an assistant to Saban? Named for Major Ogilvie from 'Bama, I remember he played for Texas. I may have this wrong, but I believe he played h.s. ball at Catholic in Baton Rouge, which would put him in company with Warrick Dunn and Travis Minor. Florida State always liked the kids from Catholic, but I don't know what ever happened to TM. He was well thought of in h.s.
Go 'Bama!

Go 'Bama!

applewhite is from BR and was the OC and QB coach at rice last season. he accepted a health pay increase to take the same job at Bama. IF he has any sense he'll stay at Bama, when saban leaves, applewhite could be next in line. he grew up a Bama fan but was not recruited by dubose's staff, he went to texas.
i like his play calling. he puts together a very good sequences.

with this coaching staff i like our chances against any team. except Lsu, this year.
the team is just so different from what we've watch the last 10 yrs. it's hard to know what to expect from the players. the effort last week was great to watch!

I watched most of the Bama game last week.....

Either McFadden is a God - or Bama's run defense is swiss cheese.

Probably a little bit of both.

a bit of both, hogs 300lb+ offensive line, Bama D-line is small in size and thin in numbers, same at LB.
Bama will give up rushing yards and points all year but they have a decent enough offense to score points and stay in games.

McFadden is a God.
Got to be the #1 pick next draft if he stays healthy.

Major Applewhite was a huge favorite while at Texas.
He basically was the reason Chris Simms got treated so badly
by the fans in Austin.

I personally dont like Saban.
But he does not give up in games
and there is no way his kids will not
be in shape for games. He really loves
the 4th quarter when the speed of the
game changes so drastically.

Bama may get beat by more talented teams,
but they will not lose because they are physically
exhausted in the 4th quarter.

otisotisotis 09-22-2007 09:32 PM

well, mcfadden didn't have enough fire and brimstone tonight. go cats! beat fau! lol
anyway, i can't decide if nutt is an idiot or genius.
this guy wins with 0 passing game.
but if you know that, why not just snap to mcfadden and let him decide if he or jones is doing the running.
