Well, the Summit card is always a good one and looks very good this year with the PRincess Rooney being run as a Grade 1 for the first time. There's a total of 4 Graded sprints on the card plus a number opf compelling non-graded stakes...

3yo's 7.5F Turf. Donthelumbertrader Stakes. $45k
2 yo fillies 5.5 F. The Cassidy. $80k
2 yo's 5.5F . The Birdonawire S. $80k
3yo+ FM. 5F Turf. Distaff Turf Sprint. $100k
3yo+ 5F Turf. Turf Sprint. $100k.
3 yo F. 6F. Azalea. Gr 3. $300k.
3 yo. 6f. CArry Back. Grade 2. $300k.
3yo+ FM. 6F. Princess Rooney. Grade 1. $500k.
3yo+. 6F. Smile Sprint. Grade 2. $500k.

Here's a link to the noms and pps available at this time.

I'm looking forward to this card. I believe the Princess Rooney will be the first Grade 1 race ever run at Calder. As always at this time of year, keep the weather in mind as it's the rainy season in SoFlo.

Guess whatever group of people grade races go by factors including how long the race has been run, quality of fields, etc...

I do thnk the Princess Rooney has been around for a while. The Smile for a far shorter period.

I never really cared about the grading of stakes process enough to care to read more about it, to be frank.
