baffert turning into frankel?

He's now decided to train midnight lute up to the bc sprint!

sucks if you had him in the tvg contest and dropped him.

btw, did anyone notice that zayat paid 600k for a friends lake yearling today?????????

wow.

sumitas 09-12-2007 08:18 PM

The first 2 days I noticed he bought a number of yearlings well into 6 figures. Here's the leading buyers to date...

I had an argument with his breeder this afternoon about why the horse should run in the vosburgh....what he said makes perfect sense (though I don't really agree)....the horse has issues....his throat is royally f*cked, and has been since he was a yearling...he has has had 3 surgeries to correct it.....he got his grade 1 win at 7f and is proven at 7f....right now there is no clear sprinter dominating the division....if Midnight Lute can win the sprint he will be certain to get the eclipse, and secure his spot in someones breeding shed....winning the vosburgh and potentially aggravating his throat does not do enough for his resume to take the risk.
again...I don't agree but I see his point.

I'm sure they can't wait to get their hands on some Andromedia's Hero yearlings in the future.

And the Pleasantly Perfect colt that I loved went to Live Oak Plantatin for 240k, he was Hip 147! Also Hip 915 is a PP and half to Nightmare Affair. but the Pleasantly Perfect I am really waiting on is Hip 2608.This is a half sister to Wait a While. I cant wait to see what she brings. Umm can you tell I am alittle excited for the PP's to start selling? sorry :D

Thank you so much for the kind words Chuck. His colts may take a while to come around but they will and when they do they will run. Come on people wake up, your looking at champions here. Not fly by night 2 yr olds. Take a chance and have a horse that will run after he is 3yrs old. Chuck that hip your talking about is a 1/2 to Tempus Fugit and Chippewa Trail also.Should atleast bring $500k. And out of a Quite American mare. Come on damn Powerball, and I can go buy all the PP's up and rule the horse racing world!!! Ok, maybe not the world but all the Grade 1 races.hehe

The Vosburgh is at 6f. I'm not sure ML is best at 6 and in fact, think he might be better at 7 or even 8.

The horse looks more like a Clydesdale than a horse, simply too big.

The 1/2 sister to Wait a While is not yet here but I imagine that if she is in book 5 she has some serious issues.

Though I did like 1984 who is a pretty nice PP selling Sunday

I can't look at Pleasantly Perfect or any of his foals without thinking of a few scenes in "On the Muscle". My favorite is when Mandella lays down in his stall next to him for a heart to heart and a few days later is outside his stall and knocks on his head and says "Hello?" because the light just hadn't gone on yet. Of course, this all occured before he started winning. They also used to call him "dinosaur"

"C'mon, boy, if you run, I'll give you a week off - promise! Don'tcha want to run, boy?"

I love that movie <g>
