ABC news - Green Monkey

Wondering if anyone else saw the clip on the nightly news today on their segment about the Green Monkey costing $16 million and has yet to race... From what they said he was supposed to run this Saturday.... Pretty sad that this horse has turned into a big joke.... Wonder if he would of ran by now had the other highest bidder won. Seems to me that they have put even more pressure on themselves and the horse for waiting so damn long to run him. Just throwing this out there.... and I am sure will regret that I did..lol :D

I saw the piece. He is not entered for Saturday at Belmont and there was no race for him in the condition book for Saturday.

yea..they are waiting for a $10,000,000 maiden claiming race..that way they can keep their loses to a minimum :D

he's not fast. but then, no one ever said that the speed went up relative to the price tag.

If you push a young horse too soon you can break that horse, mentally or physically or both. That's what I'm told anyway. That might be the case here. He was the fastest at his 2 yr old under tack sale, I believe. And that may have ruined him.

He apparently did fine after his sale, went to the track, then tore a gluteal muscle in training, necessitating (as is normal) quite a bit of time off to heal.

I hope he has the chance to race at 100 % effectiveness.

No one asked the horse if he wanted to run before being bought...

Sounds like they're just being patient with him.

Only if it's ocean front property in Wyoming for $16 mil.

Step right up Ladies and Gentlemen, for the low low price of $16 Million, you too can own your very own "Pretty Pony". He stands, he prances, he preens, and yes he jogs too.

LABEL WARNING:

Do to extreme slowness, please do not take this "pony" near a track, or try to make him "run". Doing so may result in sore hocks from the ambulance pushing him home, or he may be run over by horses that CAN actually run! :D
