Leading 2007 N.American All Weather sires
Here's the list we've been waiting for.
http://www.brisnet.com/cgi-bin/brevi...nings&dir=sire I'm seeing Bold Ruckus but that is probably due to Woodbine. It might be because he is 3x4 to Polynesian. |
I wonder how much of a role AP Excellent played in AP Indy being 4th. AP Indy offspring have burned a lot of money on the Poly/Cushion.

Well, he's had 42 aw runners and 13 aw winners = 31% (#4 2007 earnings)
On the turf he's had 76 runners and 20 winners = 26% ( #56 2007 earnings) On the dirt he's had 119 runners and 51 winners = 43% (#1 2007 earnings) |

Interesting List, Until more tracks go to Synthetic Surfaces the top of this List will always be Woodbine Heavy due to the Tremendous Purse structure there. (Example) 2 year old Maidens Run For $60,000 (Cdn) which at todays currency Exchange is Still Around 55, 56k American. |
I couldnt find Storm Cat but a bunch of his sons at the top.

Just looked at the leading sires on the all weather over here for this year so far. It's interesting to see that Dansili is top (he finished top last year, too).
Looking down the list for a mainline American sire i have to go a fair way down it before i come to Rahy who is the highest placed (currently) American sire in the list. Then followed further down by Danzig and then Giant's Causeway, Theatrical, Fu Peg and Kingmambo. None of these sires have had many runners so far on the All weather surfaces, so their winners to runners percentages are all fairly high. Looking back to the 2006 season, which should give us a better idea, again i have to go a fair way down the list to fins the first mainstream American sire..... and again that is Rahy and then Aljabr and Theatrical. |
holy bull
is not on here.. this list seems west coast ish..swiss yodler does not run much outside cali |
You could say that Nearco is prominent in all the pedigrees of the top poly sires. But then again, Nearco is prominent in all the top sires on any surface. Nearco is a ubiquitous male presance in most pedigrees. So what is it that distinguishes a top aw sire ? I think that answer may not yet be attainable.
