Appalachian St.

This is why college football is so great. What a game, blocking a field goal to win the game over #5 Michagan. They become the first Div 1AA to beat a ranked Div 1A team. This takes Michigan possibly right out of the BCS too. :D :D

App. St is defending champions @ 1AA, they are well coached and a good football team.
michigan is a joke ! until they find some speed, they are in the same boat as nd, a sorry football team. coach carr may as well start packing his office.

Now....

Does Michigan stay ranked in next week's poll?

This shows the exact weakness of the bowl system. Michigan's season is OVER. If they would have a 16 team playoff (4 weekend), they would still have a shot. So bootleg

they'll stay in the bottom 5.
App. St. Might be playing for a 3rd straight NC.

I got it. However we got the stimulating OSU/Youngstown game. Thankfully it ended early and got to catch the last 5 mins of the App St/Mich game.

The ironic part is that the App state coach made an almost unthinkable error by kicking a FG with 30 secs to go on 1st down. Hard to believe they could not have run one running play and still got the FG team out in 30 seconds. By giving Michigan 30 seconds and not making them burn the final timeout, they were lucky to escape because of the ineptness of Michigans kicking game which had 2 FG's blocked in the last 5 mins of the game.
Always amazed that major college teams can have such poor kicking games. How many games did it cost FSU over the years?

You lose to Appy state at home an you deserve to be eliminated. They are no cinch to be in the top 16 at the end of the year.

Colorado and Colorado St. seem to have wars in their series. Colorado has pretty consistantly got the best athletes in Colorado. Colorado State picks up the pieces and gets a lot of good football players that are not necessarily great athletes. Put this with a good coach and you got a chance.

Texas Tech basically does the same thing in Texas. The let Texas, Texas ATM, and Oklahoma take the cream of the crop. Then they pick up all the kids that are good football players but not superior athletes. And they have a chip on their shoulder for not being picked so they will knock of 1 or more of the aforementioned almost every year.

Good coaches put with real players can do some pretty amazing things. Its a lot tougher in the pros to get away with this. This is why college football is so full of extra incentive for players and excitement for the fans. A lot of very good football players get bypassed by the perennial powers because they dont run 4.4 40's.

I agree, while I like betting on College football, i could never be a hardcore fan because a winner is essentially chosen, they don't have to fight for it.

Not exactly. You still pretty much have to win all your games to be in contention and how many teams do that? I would favor a playoff but I can't condone a sport just because I don't like how they come up with a champion. In the end what does it really matter unless the team you bet covers the spread?

a 16 team playoff like the other divisions play would be awesome!
cut the season back to 11 games give automatic berths to conference champions and a couple at-large bids.

I found it today on Directv. Not happy I couldn't find it yesterday...Channel 220. They are replaying the game at 7 tonight.

Wow. Did knock Meat-chicken right out of the Top 25. Don't know how much I agree with it. What are those voters thinking now that had #1 votes for Michigan last week?
