Bob and John retired!!!

"Bob and John has all the qualities that we look for in a stallion and that have been successful for us in the past," Abercrombie said.

A fee will be announced later.

Do I hear $1, $1 folks?

I didn't even know they were still racing. I mean, I did not know that he was still racing.

Apparently all they look for is the ability to defeat Jazil and Keyed Entry going 9f in the slop. As far as I can remember, that is the only noteworthy (using the loosest possible definition of that word) thing he ever did.

Every stallion needs a first and second at Lone Star Park as a 4 year old on their resume too.

True. And in his defense, those were both graded stakes races, and the horse that beat him down there (Silent Pleasure) has been having a very nice year.
B&J was a decent racehorse with a strong pedigree, but if I owned a nice filly I sure wouldn't be in a big rush to get her to him.

Honestly I was never a big fan, but at least it gave hope of another stakes horse being on the scene. He must have had a lot of problems because he would be working like a machine and then disappear for a month or two and then start working again.

Never doing anything noteworthy, obviously, topping the list.

LOL, true. He is very accomplished compared to the rest of the horses Baffert ran in the Derby that year. You see Sinister Minister in the entries often enough, but has he won? Has Point Determined worked this year?

Speaking of Tapit... :p

I saw a yearling colt by Tapit at the OBS Select sale that I kinda liked. I think he went for 37k.

Imma buy me a colt by Tapit....name him Tapitdatass :D

DJK 08-24-2007 09:53 AM

Please... we know:D he had nothing left to prove:p . And I think a great quality to look for in a stallion is the naming possibilities of the foals. He does have that. You can put Bob or John into so many names.
