Godolphin buys Prussian

They just spent 75 million on Prussian, the ultra impressive two year old son of Danzig that debuted today at Saratoga.

Stud plans have not yet been announced, but they are aiming to winter him over in Dubai with the ultimate goals being to bring him back for the triple crown next year. If that doesn't work out, they will send him back to the turf again and settle for winning one of the Breeders Cup Turf races.

Seeing as how he's out of an Alleged mare, I'm expecting him to go to the John Deere turf race.

What's next...Sgt.Shultz???

I meant Sargent Seattle

Hough's phone was ringing off the hook the night of the debut. He had a fever before the Sanford but is expected for the Hopeful.

if he's that good, they can run him in a bc race on friday, and wheel him right back on saturday. why, i bet they feel they ripped off the previous owner!

i was thinking it was a completely made-up number--tongue in cheek and all that.

but even 7.5 would be a HUGE price. what, did he win by a hundred? shave three seconds off the world record?

i can't help wondering if all these owners call darley and tell them 'hey, coolmore called...they offered such and such'. darley breaks out the checkbook.

Well, you know they would fall for it everytime.

WinStar probably told them that coolmore had offered $40million for AGS.

*goes in search of a wild pony and Sheikh Mo's number* :D

I was thinking the whole thing was made up so figured I'd ask a simple question instead of.....

Indian Charlie 08-18-2007 12:29 PM

yeah, i was being facetious about the whole story.

it takes longer than a couple of hours to put together a deal anyways.

to the person who asked what he did, he won first time out for mott going 8.5 on turf, by around 7-8 lengths.

he crawled uncontested on the lead and sprinted home the last 2.5 furlongs in under 30 seconds.

he didnt look like a 2yo, that's for sure.

i'd imagine that between his breeding and the way he ran, more distance will not be an issue for him.

i'd also say it's 90% likely that the darley gang will buy him soon enough!!

he reminds me a little bit of a 2yo i saw debut a couple of years ago on turf as well, though not nearly as overwhelmingly spectacularly awesome as the one from 2 years ago.

Linny 08-18-2007 04:09 PM

I imagine that stud plans will soon be announced, after all, he's done more than enough...

ArlJim78 09-16-2007 08:17 PM

This guy is now two for two, winning the Summer Stakes impressively today at Woobine.

Danzig 09-16-2007 08:19 PM

Mott finally wins the Summer S. He's run second 3 or 4 times. This looks like a very nice horse. I wonder who the Euro's may send for the new BCJ Turf...
