he looks bored

The grand old man (g) deserves everything he gets at the Horse park and more. I bet a video replay of The Bart would get him up and kicking.

he seemed like a pretty nice horse to me when i met him, back in 2000.

a few of us from the old aol racing boards hooked up there and the groom for both john henry and cigar was an aol board member as well.

she brought out both of them for the three of us to photograph and pet, and about the worst thing john henry did was get a little bit jealous when i went to pet cigar on the head. i had to keep petting john henry while the other two went to cigar.

he seemed like an overgrown puppy dog to me.

What a lovely story. He must be intrigued by the kids and the midget horses.

I'm just glad to see him still alive and well. It's nice for a change...

He looks good (better) in the video - if he's walking from that barn down to the cross country course and back, he's walking at least a mile round trip. I'm glad they let him go where he wishes. Good for him! Just don't bite any children, and ruin it, John !

Excellent story. Great to see John Henry get the respect he deserves. The line about how he just gets in line in the parade of horses, to still recieve the accolades is heart warming. Go John Henry!

I was at Kentucky horse park with my wife and kids 2 weeks ago. I left the parade of breed show early thinking nobody would be around the hall of champions. As I was walking up the driveway to the HOC, there was John Henry being walked by his handler. I got a beautiful photo, and he was a perfect gentleman as I pet him.

"Because he is so smart, he gets bored easily," -- Sounds like half of the members of this board.

Great story about a great horse.
