Ready's Echo

Wow!!! When they turned for home he had to be 20 lengths behind. Reminded me of that Biancone horse from a few years back, except he won.

More then that, he was just starting the 1st turn when they were getting to the final turn, pretty crazy debut, looks like a pain in the ass to ride but once he felt the whip he took off

I hate when Pletcher has a horse that I immediately like. Last horse like that was Forest Danger.

Oh yeah he was rolling

Antitrust32 08-08-2007 03:08 PM

he passed the 2nd and 3rd place finishers in like 1 and a half jumps. unreal! I wonder what his final 1/8th was. sick stuff with 2yo's at the spa today. I picked a great day to stay home (1st time all meet!)

LOL, I was just thinking why couldn't they have run Monday when I was there.

The chart says he was 20+ lengths behind with 2 1/2 furlongs left. I've that was a pretty impressive losing horse! Durkin's call was hilarious.

I figure it about :10 3/5. Last 3/8 about :31 flat or so. You can pay good money for this kind of information.

That seems a little too fast. I've got his last 3 1/2 f in 39 and 1, which is still really freakin fast.

You're right. I moved a decimal or something. Closer to :33 for the last 3/8. Still quick.

Watched this replay a couple of times now. He is so far back at the top of the stretch. My comment each time is "there's no way".

I agree, Durkin's call is hilarious

It really was incredible. I actually enjoy watching it because it's like someone dropped him out of the sky. From what I can make of the charts he ran his opening quarter in 27 and 2 and his final 3 1/2 furlongs in 39 and 1. The final time isn't all that impressive (Maimonides was about 10 lengths faster than he was, and his race went a full second faster than this one) but I'm sure his final quarter was blistering but because of the odd distance we'll never know unless there was someone there who clocked it.

I still cant believe he came from that far back to get 2nd.. Superb finish to his run, but I suppose every Tom Dick and Harry will be using that next time out and he'll be sensationally short!!
