7/26: Saratoga (Day 2)

Days at the racetrack are always pleasureable... Days like Wednesday's magical Opener are more rare. It had everything, and when a dead heat finale brough the afternoon to a close, only the first race spill that ultimately claimed Graham Motion's Massoud stood between Saratoga's meet curtain-raiser and perfection.

On a day that was more fitting weather-wise for Del Mar, a grand audience thronged the old Spa, and P.J. Campo's intriguing racecard produced thrilling contests and big balloons much of the day. A slow start to the capping gave way to a hot streak in the 5th-8th for us, and those that ventured to the windows should have left ahead.

Thursday features hoppers in the first before another good set of heats highligted by the Sanford... Hope you did well and enjoyed Day One at Saratoga.

I can't believe the most accomplished horse in the field- who loves SAR- went off at 10-1. That's why the Spa is the best!

Not to be too scientific or logic laden but WTF was that result in the 6th at TOGA......nothing there made sense to me. I can't remember the last time I had 5 horses boxed that all missed the first 4 places.

The graveyard of favorites, longshots, closers and 4 legged creatures!!!!!

I thought Giant Storm made good sense. Hough seems to be starting hot at Saratoga and his percentages in Mcl and MSW/MCL along with a strong jock looked good. Debut on grass was best Beyers of young career.

The second place finisher, I didn't even give a look...
