Wonderfully pedigreed son of Mr. Prospector. Now he can rest in peace instead of being shuttled all over the globe every year by his demanding owners.

I know... it's just sad. Why does being an older horse = death for so many of these stallions? He bred 40 mares this season... how bad off could he have been? Why couldn't he have just been given a nice retirement instead of euthanization?

that farm is particularly notorious for having stallions who suddenly cant breed to their liking anymore come down with various 'infirmaties'.

They should have just sent him to Old Friends or something like that.

I was too young to remember Woodman racing (or I wasn't born probably..). I recognize him mostly for siring Hansel, who was one my favorite horses when I was a little kid.
