This happens every year

Went to the backyard to get the leaves out of the pool and turn on the filter and their in the pool is a dead bird.During the winter the cover is on so birds and squirrels go on the cover.Twice i had to take out 2 squirrels that fell in and drowned,1 year i got home in time to find a squirrel in there that was still alive and i fished it out and put it on the deck.It didn't move for 3 hours but finally it got it's strength back and was able to move.I can't understand how a bird would not of been able to fly out.

Don't know about the birds but I'm guessing wet feathers.
On the farm the horses are put out into different pastures. Each one has its own old bathtub where they can come over for a drink. Some critters that have found their way into the water but were unable to climb out include many many mice, some chipmunks, red and grey squirrels, gosh, I could go on.
Of course, after fishing out the dead critter, the water is changed.
It's that time of the year.

This happens every year
------------------------

It's merely history repeating itself.

It can happen any given year.

I am totally stunned by your poetry, your profound words of wisdom.
So good!
Thanks!

With my pool it's usually frogs...at least four or five of them end up getting fished out, only to jump back in after I put chorline in when it's opened. This year they were lucky...only one parished.

Suicidal mice in the kid's pool I put out for my dogs.

Triple H, you lucky guy!
Don't throw em away!
Just take a sharp knife and cut off their back legs. Peel em like you're taking off a used condom.
Then fry em up in a hot skillet with some melted butter, garlic, and some fresh parsley right before you plate em.
YUM!!!!

3H
Seriously.
Chlorine disipates naturally within 24 hours.
A good way, bsides giving them to your dogs, is to soak them overnight in a salt water brine. Rinse them off and you're good to go!
No kidding!
I'm talking gourmet cooking.

Really?
I'm not a frog leg eater, had them once and it tasted like fishy chicken! :p

They are really good. Just get the butter and garlic going and don't over cook them.
Whoever cooked them for you didn't know what they were doing.
The garlic cuts any "fishy taste", and the basil adds a lot.
Serve em hot with cold white wine (good stuff).
Salt and pepper to taste.

I am confused...

Any given year Morton says that History will repeat itself?

Or History repeats itself as evidence by Morton repeatedly proclaiming that events can happen any given year?

Or are these the same things?
