To the race callers at Derby Trail
allways wanted to know..
of course you like where you are ..but where would you like to call if given anywhere in the u.s ..and vic i miss you at gs.. |
Also like to know
are announcers who are employed by the track allowed to wager at that track and/or other outside tracks.....Assume that you are allowed.
|
I am not allowed to wager.
And as for the one place I would like to call? Bring me back home - New York! |

I'm not allowed to wager at Portland Meadows, no racing officials can. I believe i am allowed to at River Downs, but would never bet on a race i was calling anyways.
dream jobs: Santa Anita, Emerald Downs or stay put where i am. any of those 3 would work :) |

I think it would be very funny to have you do a voice over of an old race, but as an announcer who has a betting interest in the race, but things just aren't going your way.. "Oh NO...Here comes Guidry!" " Gomez..what are you doing?" " Get up for third!".. |

Thanks for sharing that..good story. Guess the old adage "There's no cheering in the press box" isn't always true. Hope your Uncle didn't blame you for "not getting him home":) |

I can't wager because it's a Harrahs rule. I also cannot play the slot machines. Now, I would never wager on the races I'm calling, but if I'm about to head home, and there's a race at another track with a big field, it'd be nice if I could plunk some dough down. But I can't.
