Well, at least Echo can't take the wrong track this time :D He's probably my favourite Godolphin horse actually, i saw him as a yearling in Ireland and he seemed so laid back then, things have obviously gone downhill since, as he gets so stirred up these days.

Hopefully nothing scares him this time around..... a little like Rakti with the nutty camera lady making the kiss-kiss sounds (no that WASN'T me).:p

He seems to get distracted easily but don't we all..... :D

He is such a good looking horse, though, rather like his dad :) I think if he really put his mind to it, he'd have the same amount of ability as his dad too. Like you say, he gets distracted. I think he gets nervous at the races, he always looks to be stirred up. I think he likes being at 'home' too much......

Silly boy.....

Very nice field. I like Royal Oath here.

Oh well...

SPENCER SUPERB ON CESARE

Jamie Spencer successfully adopted his customary waiting tactics with aplomb when he guided Cesare to victory in the Group Two Sony Summer Mile Stakes at Ascot.
The former champion jockey held Cesare up in last position as the well-backed 2/1 favourite Echo Of Light was handed an easy lead in the round mile contest.

However, Godolphin's charge has always shown a tendency to shift left-handed and when Kerrin McEvoy asked the leader for maximum effort he veered into Dunelight two furlongs out.

The move gave Royal Oath the chance to take over on the far rail under Jimmy Fortune, initially blocking the run of Cesare as Spencer made his move.

However, once straightened out the 11/4 shot quickened decisively to seal victory in the £85,000 event, with Royal Oath a gallant second.

Echo Of Light hung left all the way up the straight and was eventually run out of third place by Heaven Sent.

NoChanceToDance 07-14-2007 11:33 AM

Yep, he's a silly boy.

I don't know why. He had it easy on the lead (just how he likes it), but he seemed to panic when other horses challenged him.
