**** yeah they do. They put these Mdn claimers and 8k claimers on the bookends for dramatic reasons. If the pool was 200k today, it would have carried with that 9, only reason it was hit today is because of the monster 10k tickets that were out there.....

In SoCal, if a stakes comes up with less than 6 runners, usually they will put the stakes before the start of the pick 6. and card the races with the biggest fields in the pick six sequence and also do this with sometimes with an overwhelming favorite. They did it yesterday with the Beverly Hills Hand. which had only 5 runners and a mortal lock winner in Citronnade.

Absolutely they do. I remember reading an interview (just can't remember where) in which a racing secretary admitted he arranged the card with tough races in the heart of the pick 4s and 6s.

And your point is what? We all know that they make the pick 6 as difficult as they can in Southern California and the carry over generates intrest and a larger pool the next day. We don't have to play it.

Didn't they either interview a secretary on ATRAB a year or so ago who said it is his job to create carryovers, or was this just mentioned, possibly from the interview you mentioned?
