NBA Draft

For some reason, I'm really looking forward to this tomorrow evening, first time in years it's really interested me. The first two picks are obvious but after that??? A 7 foot Chinese player who plays like Dirk (supposedly), 4 starters from Florida, two more highly regarded guys from Ohio State...should be worth watching!

The steal of the draft will be whoever drafts Aaron Brooks from Oregon. Guy was made to play in the NBA. Plays similar to Daniel Gibson, another undersized scorer that wound up going late in the draft. Though he really reminds me of Rod Strickland who everybody forgets was a really good player who played for lousy teams and got himself into trouble all the time.

Here's to hoping the Rockets land Glen "Big Baby" Davis. I hear he might be available at #26.

What do you own a restuarant in Houston?

LOL Chuck...There's actually been a lot of discussion here in town, apparently he has lost quite a bit of weight. I'm sure we'll get a better glimpse tonight but the guy showed two years ago in the Tourney that he can be a major force on a team where he can be a role player. The Rockets are badly in need of a "4" and Davis would obviously fit well. I'm thinking the weight problems were a college thing and once he gets to the NBA he'll realize he's got some growing up to do. Otherwise he'll become Robert "Tractor" Traylor.

I agree with you about Brooks. The other guard from Oregon, Tajuan Porter, had that one BIG game in the NCAA Tournament, but I came away more impressed with Aaron Brook's consistent play throughout. Hopefully, he has, or will, put on weight so he can survive the pounding he will take in the NBA. And I hope he gets on a team where he will get a chance to play. I wouldn't mind seeing him get drafted by the Heat. I'm a little tired of Jason Williams' bonehead plays (when he isn't injured).

I dont know if Brooks is a 35 minute a night guy but he should be great on an uptempo team that needs a spark off the bench. He may be a liability on defense and his decision making can be a bit questionable but he can score on anyone.

We already have David Wheatley or whatever his name is.

Next June unless they move the pick for some European related to GPK

Cannon Shell 06-28-2007 08:39 PM

Billy Bob Thorton is a dead ringer for Mitch Kupchak if Kupchak started drinking heavily, stopped showering and shrunk 2 feet.

Mortimer 06-28-2007 08:39 PM

Phooey.

I'm not excited anymore.

I'll give you the super for the MG if you like.

What the hell...

Was Boston thinking? who is Danny Ainge blowing to keep his job? Aren't Ray Allen and Paul Pierce the same player?

skippy3481 06-29-2007 12:29 AM

My new favorite quote
Peirce and Allen play a compimentary game."
Wrong they both have the exact same game, they are chuckers. My only question is who gets the other 10 shots a game ray will have 35 pierce will have 35.
