£10million Cockney Rebel

There has been a formal bid of £10million for the Dual Guineas winner. Nothing has been accepted or dclined yet and it won't be until after the St James Palace at Royal Ascot next week.

The identification of the bidder has been kept secret, but do we already know....... i think so

yeah wonder who the bidder is?? you can add a few million more if he confirms that he is the best miler in Europe as plenty think Dutch Art or one of O'Briens may beat him.. Its also quite surprising to hear the connections point towards France later on in the season.. To me, it looks like he thrives on fast ground and you rarely get quick ground for the big mile races in France.. It'll be interesting to see..

I think this horse is very special........ I can't see Dutch Art turning the form around with him. The horse seems to have improved and now connections are saying he even scoped slightly dirty before his Irish 2,000 guineas. Now, i can't imagine these connections would put us in the dark, as they have been very honest with the punters in the past.

What are the odds Darley buys him, but leases him back out to the current owners, like they have done with Authorized.

Cockney is a special horse and I suppose its good for the game when you hear them talking up the horse alot.. I remember Starcraft's owner Paul Makin a few years back and he was very entertaining and had some great quotes for the media and put his money where his mouth was by putting up 800k for the BC Classic..
But having said that, Cockney's profile hardly scream stallion success..

So, a quick question for everyone.

What would you prefer to have....... GBP10million (so getting on for $20million), or a dual classic winner who looks like having a great chance of landing another Gr1 at Royal Ascot next week?

A shame...

REBEL BLOW FOR HUFFER
By PA Sport Staff

Cockney Rebel has met with a major setback after fracturing his off-side pelvis at Royal Ascot on Tuesday.

Geoff Huffer's dual Guineas hero suffered the injury when finishing fifth in the St James's Palace Stakes, where he hung badly left in the closing stages.

Although the initial prognosis on Tuesday morning was a pulled muscle in Cockney Rebel's hind-quarters, a subsequent scan revealed the injury to be worse than expected.

"We got him to the surgery this morning and gave him a scan which showed the fracture," Huffer said on Wednesday.

"It's not life-threatening, but that's racing I'm afraid.

"It's too early to say, but he could be out for a month or two.

"He will have the best treatment any horse can have and will be brought back as good as ever - if not better."

Sad to hear that, it was clear that something was wrong with him yesterday because that performance was too bad to be true.

Hope he recovers quickly.

My father rang to tell me yesterday, he said there was a last minute bone scan coming in and when he looked at what it was it was Cockney Rebel.

Still waiting for news on Sound Of Nature, but i'm expecting the worst, i'm afraid.
