I never wrote for the NTRA. I wrote for KentuckyDerby.com, FairGroundsRaceCourse.com, and will soon be writing for other Churchill Downs websites.

A few years ago....a girlfriend of one of my friends actually picked the sock up....

Whatever compelled her to do that, I have no idea....when I told her why it was stained almost yellow, why it was very crusty, and why it smelled so unpleasantly....she was much less freaked out about it than I had hoped she would be.

I think I said something like "there's a lot of DNA in that baby" "With all the spunk in that, you might be able to repopulate the planet a few times."

She just casually dropped it...
