Bill Northern

The Honu-Boboman thread reminded me of this and I thought I'd post it. The only thing better than information from the excercise rider would be info from the horse him/her self. Since this audience includes horse trainers, owners, and others in the industry, I think some may be interested. I came across this man in a radio interview some years ago (I have no personal knowledge of what he does, have just heard him speak and read some articles). He claims to be an "animal communicator", and has had some involvement with race horses. I am not issuing judgement on his legitimacy, just passing this along, perhaps creating some discussion.

I don't disbelieve the notion that a skilled person can find problems with animals many cannot.

I'm not sure, however, that the horses themselves can communicate their jockey of choice. That should be left to others to determine, preferably Mystic Zelda.

In Jane Smiley's "A Year at the Races" she talks about an animal communicator she knows and what that person had to say about her "conversations" with Smiley's race horse. Very entertaining.

Here's another story, more detailed.

Two thoughts ....

We've always had "animal communicators". Xenophen was the first well-known one. They used to be called "good horsemen" or "good dog men".

When I retire from veterinary medicine, I'm going to become an "animal communicator." I can sit on my tuckus near the telephone at home, and make $200 per "consultation". As the clients can't figure out what the heck is going on with their own animals, they will never be able to tell me I'm wrong. Visa or Mastercard. No checks.

Three thoughts, actually ...
