RIP...Veronica Mars

I forsook American Idol tonight to watch the final two episodes of Veronica Mars and I'm glad I did. Excellent television, by far the best show on the tube...well, that WAS on the tube. When they filmed the season finale they didn't know they'd be cancelled so they left a million things up in the air, ended in a heartbreaking fashion. At least we got to see Weivel do the things he does best and Logan absolutely destroy a jerk, still...certainly not the way to end a series. As more and more reality shows appear along with more One Tree Hill's, I'm finding less and less I enjoy:
House
Bones
Painkiller Jane
Blood Ties
and...sports. Otherwise it's DVD time all the time.

They should have filmed an alternate ending IN CASE it ended. I didn't like how they ended it. I WANT A FINALE STUPID CW! Loved the episodes, but was disappointed in how they ended it. Veronica cannot end up with Pizzy. :)

I know it is only a TV show but I really liked this show. It sucks. I lost two of my favorite shows this year. CW bites.

I agree, the last two episodes were great but make for a terrible ending (nothing resolved...I mean Veronica's dad under arrest, the whole thing with the Castle, Veronica and Logan in pieces), Rob Thomas is looking at doing a movie to wrap things up, whether he can get the backing...he's not Joss Whedon but VM was on 3 years to Firefly's half season...time will tell!

Ha ha. I was just reading that on eonline. I hope so!

Yeah, I linked to it from Whedonesque.com, certainly they could make a feature, Joss was able to make Serenity with all the special effects for $39 million, they could do a VM movie for well under $20 million. Serenity has now finally broken through and made a profit (thanks to DVD sales) and I suspect a young ,sexy, witty detective with a fractured love life would be easier to market to the general public than a space western. They would have to hurry because Ms Bell is hot now, she will have a lot of offers and deservedly so...if they can't put something together fast, they'll find themselves in the situation Joss did with Buffy...no SMG! Without Ms Bell, there could be no VM.

You are correct.

Why can't they do the Buffy movie now? SMG could work it into her schedule if she wanted to.

I think she would be receptive to doing a movie, she has always left that door open...Aly is doing HIMYM of course and David has said many times that he has no interest in doing Angel again. James is still willing to do Spike and I would think Nick would be available. The biggest problem right now is the comic...how to blend a movie in with the comic story. Frankly, I think Joss is simply too busy. If we ever see a movie, it will probably be a spinoff like Ripper or Faith.

Faith could be a nice spin off. Haven't seen her since Tru Calling, which by the way I loved her in.

I have the DVD's of Tru Calling...I thought it was a unique show and she was great in it! Again, cancelled after only a few episodes of season two leaving much unresolved..!
If I had my pick, other than Buffy of course, I'd like to see a show with Spike, Illyria and Faith as the main characters, it would be even better if Joss could figure a way to bring back Wesley as that character and Illyria were an interesting dynamic.

I would love to see Wesley come back to life and Illyria in a spin off. They could spin that somehow.

Well Joss is a creative genius so I have no doubt he'd find a way...Wes was killed by a powerful Warlock but by physical (natural means), in the Buffyverse, folks can be brought back if they were killed by supernatural means (Buffy) but Willow couldn't bring back Tara cause she was shot by Warren Meers so that's the problem. I was thinking that Willow did heal Buffy's gunshots in season 6 so if she showed up after Illyria destroyed the Warlock and left, possibly she discovered that Wes wasn't completely dead and healed him magically...that could work, especially with Willow's powers (this would be after Buffy season 7 so Willow was virtually a god).

By the way Buffy, did you see David has signed to co-star in another movie...he's keeping busy! if not, details are at Whedonesque.

No. I will check it out. Oh, on eonline.com click on the Gossip and Watch with Kristin. There is a little video with David talking about next season of Bones.

Bones has improved to the point where it's even with House as my favorite show still on TV. The season ender last week was great and shows how unique the show is...CSI mixed with father/daughter issues and highlighted by a wedding (almost anyway) of two "minor" characters...and hell, her daddy's in ZZ Top what not to love!

It is in my top 10 fave TV shows that are still on. Boston Legal is my absolute fave right now. Ugly Betty is up there in my #2 spot. Then House in at #3.

Well, I don't have 10...Boston Legal seemed funny the couple episodes I saw but never got into watching it regularly. Didn't care for Ugly Betty, the feminist in me wouldn't allow it. I only watch a few and I'd rate them:
1) Bones/ House (tied)
3) Blood Ties
4) Painkiller Jane
5) American Idol
Up until last night VM was #1 of course...frankly aside from those, I'd rather watch shows from my DVD collection.

I love Ugly Betty. It is quite a silly show, but I love it. I love the family aspect of it with her and her family. It is a bit over the top, but I love it. I think it is that kind of a show. You either love it or hate it.

I also like Brothers and Sisters. Sally Field is great in it. She should absolutely be nominated for an emmy for her role.

Have you seen Blood Ties yet? I really like it...wasn't sure at first cause of the way they lit it and the music was a bit harsh I thought but I love the Vicki Nelson character, reminds me of an older VM or Buffy. Same with Painkiller Jane, the background music makes the dialogue hard for me to follow but I like the characters and the mythology.
