NBA ping pong balls

Which team will get their ball drawn first tonight? The Odom draw. Memphis has the best chance, I wouldn't be surprised to see Boston however! The first two picks seem clear with two dominant players available...good luck all!

Somer: I was listening to the peeps on espn last nite...they said only 4 times in the history of the lottery did the team with the worst record get the 1st pick...so much for good luck!

Yeah, it's weighted but worst team still has only a 25% chance.

As an ex-Knick fan, who loathes both Jim Dolan and Isaah Thomas, I am praying they end up getting the first or second pick so it goes to Chicago.

Chicago would be interesting with Odom in that front line! Could happen!

9th pick, word is they are going to try and trade up to get Oden, but I doubt Portland trades him, Oden is exactly what they need.....

Coach Pants 05-22-2007 08:11 PM

Holy **** Portland gets Oden. Roy is a solid player. Jarrett Jack has potential at the point. Zach Randolph will be a top 5 power forward with Oden's help.

Damn they could be a 7 or 8 seed next year.

pgardn 05-22-2007 08:48 PM

The West keeps getting stronger.
Portland gets Odom and Seattle gets Durant.

I think Zach may have a new address next year

And the East will probably win the title again

I think that Portland has a solid group of young players. I love the NBA, but parity is something the NBA is lacking. I think it is something like only 7 different teams since 1983 have won the NBA title.

I was wondering about this Seattle. Seattle doesnt need Rashard now that Durant is their pick. Much easier to build your franchise around a 19 year old than Rashard. But any team out west is going to have problems until Duncan retires.

In my opinion, the perfect trade would be Randolph for Lewis. Once Portland takes Oden, that makes Randolph expendable. Same for Lewis once the Sonics take Durant. This would give both teams a solid trio of players that don't play the same position. Portland would be able to go with Oden, Lewis, and Roy and Seattle would use Randolph, Durant and Allen. I think it's a win/win for both teams.

The team that got screwed the most in the draft was Phoenix in my opinion. I really believe that they were poised to trade Marion and the #4 to Minnesota for Garnett. With Atlanta falling into the top three, that pic is protected so they keep it.

Zach Randolph is a terrible player......period.

He's no great player and he doesn't seem to be the greatest of teammates. But he also is one of very few in this league that gets u 20 and 10 consistently. He also gives u a decent shooting percentage of nearly 47% and hits 82% from the line. The list of 20-10 guys is Garnett, Boozer, Duncan and Randolph. There are worse players to have than Randolph.

Don't get me wrong. I understand about Randolph. He's more of a numbers guy. By that, I mean he doesn't usually have a huge impact on the game in important moments but somehow ends up with his 20-10. But there still aren't too many guys that can give u a season high of 43 points and a season high of 17 boards. And at the end of the day, 20 and 10 still is being productive no matter when in the game u get them. He's a reliable shooter, u can go to him in the post and he can hit his foul shots and this past season was his best as far as passing the ball. He's had two 20-10 seasons and his other two seasons as a starter were 19-10 and 18-8. He's a productive guy no matter what u think of him.

pgardn 05-24-2007 10:07 AM

Zach Randolph I believe is salvagable. He is very tough for a guy who cant jump. He is one of the best inside offensive players in the league. I would take a chance on him.

I will inform the Spurs, we should try and make a trade for him... i'm sure this will put my name on a list for those bound for Belleview.
