Congrats to Matz...

Didn't see anyone posting about it. But I find it absolutely appropriate that he win the first running of the Barbaro Stakes.

Congrats to him and may it dull the pain a bit on this day.

I was very happy to see this. And even though I dont know him. What I have read about him and seen on TV... Matz is a class act. If I had a stellar animal with potential for TC races, he would go with Matz or Nafzger. Smaller operations with personal touch and guys that care about the animals. And their backgrounds, especially Matz', say your horse will be assessed properly by very good eyes.

That he is. He's always been that way... I'm glad to see him take the same care with his racehorses as he did with his showjumpers.

Haven't watched the race yet (my daughter taped them for me since I had to work) but congrats to Michael! Those of you who saw it, was it good enough to send him on to the belmont?

To be decided, Matz was not sure. He was 1/5 and was going easy at the end. But he looked a little tired. He ran upfront the whole way. I bet it depends on how many horses enter as well as determining how he works after this race.
